Design
To meet the demands of our customers, our technical staff provides consulting and assistance through each and every phase of the design and planning stage, supported by advanced 3D CAD modelling programmes and casting and solidification simulation software that allow for the highest level of optimisation, right from the early phases, in the manufacturing of equipment and castings.This close collaboration with the client permits significant cost savings in the construction of equipment and the standard production of castings. If required, Fondmatic can provide castings using a rapid prototyping process, delivering the first samples in 4 weeks.

Production of cores
We employ the most advanced technologies, applied by our highly specialised staff and supported by the ongoing commitment to research and development in our in-house laboratory, to manufacture and assemble even the most complex cores. Fondmatic has an extensive array of core production technology, many of which are in line with the painting and fettling stations to ensure constant quality and reduced lead times for core production.

    CASTING

    We produce grey and nodular cast iron

Casting Division
Fondmatic uses three rotary casting furnaces, one holding furnace and two automatic casting furnaces, both for grey cast iron and nodular cast iron. A wire inoculation system is used for the spheroidisation of cast iron while casting is fully automated via a system that was conceived and designed in-house. Proprietary software, developed by our engineers and a technical office, permits constant control of all technical parameters related to the casting cycle and the saving of all historical data. Production capacity is 10 tonnes/hour.

Moulding boxes
Our automatic green sand moulding system ensures an hourly production of 180 moulds. The moulding boxes are sized 740x600x250+250mm. All production processes are constantly monitored in collaboration with our Metallurgy and Quality Control Division via specialised IT programmes.
  • AUTOMATION

    Our robotised production centres guarantee product quality

Finishing
After moulding, the casts are machined in our large and technologically advanced finishing department. Finishing processes including fettling, internal shot blasting and fibre endoscope controls are completely automated and robotic. In particular, fibre optic controls that ensure that no defects are present in the distribution system are completely automated through the application of technology and Fondmatic patented in-house software.

Quality Controls
To guarantee the highest quality to our clients, our specialised staff have access to a metallurgical laboratory, equipped with a spectrometer (for chemical analysis) and a quality control division with the most innovative technological equipment.

The equipment used includes:
- Two ARL quantometers
- Thermal analysis system (ATAS)
- Two automatic ground control systems
- Probes and automatic cameras for temperature control
- Nikon microscope with data processing and micrographic report software
- Gilardoni ultrasound equipment
- Automatic durometer for Brinell hardness tests (3000/10)
- 3D Steinbichler optic scanner for size analysis

On demand Fondmatic is also able to supply the castings complete with mechanical machining, carried out with the most qualified and advanced FMS and CNC. The dimensional checks, performed by means of latest generation tridimensional machines, guarantee the respect of the required tolerances.
